What is a destination wedding?
A destination wedding is a wedding located in a location other than the couple's hometown. This could include another state or another country. Popular states for destination weddings include: Florida, California, Arizona, Hawaii. Popular counties for destination weddings include: Mexico, Jamaica, Bahamas, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Italy, France, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Advantages:
1. Can be less expensive than having a hometown wedding. Many out of the country resorts offer a complimentary wedding if enough of the wedding guests stay at the resort for a minimum number of nights.
2. Enjoy spending time with family and friends at a beautiful vacation spot.
3. Can also serve as a honeymoon trip.
4. Can reduce stress of wedding planning.
Disadvantages:
1. Does require additional cost and travel for wedding guests so may limit the amount of attendees.
2. Planning with wedding coordinator is done long distance.
